Inspired by Ghanaian Photographer Philip Kwame Apagya, Kwasi Paul uses portraits to explore the friction between reality and aspiration. The direction fuses hyperrealism with cultural adoption, while glorifying the dreams our forefathers had. Dreams that defined their life paths, and dreams that bore generations beyond themselves. We see subjects standing before backdrops of iconic Western locations, portraying everything they dreamt of having.
